CANSCAIP Members and Friends are invited to our December 2020 membership meeting. Please REGISTER for this meeting, and you'll get the Zoom link on the day of the meeting.
Our membership meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month. Held via Zoom, CANSCAIP meetings can be attended by Members and Friends from across Canada. Guests are also welcome to come to a meeting--contact office@canscaip.org to request the Zoom link.

LOCATION: via Zoom. On the day of the meeting, CANSCAIP sends the Zoom link to everyone who has registered.
MEETING FORMAT: The monthly meetings begin with brief opening remarks by President Sharon Jennings that include statements of land acknowledgement and inclusion. Next are the announcements by Members and Friends as noted below. The final part of the meeting is the speaker's presentation, and attendees can type questions for the speaker into Chat; the meeting coordinator reads the questions aloud for the speaker's response. NEW: Following the speaker's presentation, everyone is invited to linger and chat to each other in breakout rooms hosted by CANSCAIP board members--more info below.

MEETING SPEAKER: Award-winning illustrator CHARLENE CHUA talks about her creative path that led to picture books. Charlene has illustrated many titles including Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao, Going Up! and The Pencil, and she wrote and illustrated Hug? Books she's illustrated have been nominated for the OLA Forest of Reading, OLA Best Bets, USBBY Outstanding International Books, Shining Willow Award, and Kirkus Best Books. Charlene was born and grew up in Singapore, and moved to Canada in 2007. When she's not making art, she enjoys cooking, reading, and playing with her cats. She now lives with her spouse (and cats!) in Hamilton, Ontario.
BREAKOUT ROOMS: At the end of our December meeting, we'll have a number of breakout rooms so we can talk to each other in smaller groups. Attendees will be randomly sorted into the breakout rooms, and each room will be hosted by a CANSCAIP board member. Breakout rooms will be part of future meetings too--so please join our first flight!
