Entries advancing to the second round receive additional written feedback. Selected entries advance to the longlist, and longlist readers select the shortlist. From the shortlist, juries select winners and finalists. Entries are evaluated anonymously, so readers and juries don’t know the names of the writers.

In November, everyone will receive the written evaluations for their entries.

The next Writing for Children Competition will open in March 2025.

CANSCAIP thanks the Members who volunteered as readers and jurors for the Writing for Children Competition: Jen Bailey, Dorothy Bentley, Kate Blair, Laura Bontje, Shannon Bramer, Sophie Casson, Teresa Chan, Paul Coccia, Tziporah Cohen, Peggy Collins, Marcus Cutler, Jillian Dobson, MaryLou Driedger, Sandra Dumais, Allison Finley, Heather Gale, Joyce Grant, Jennifer Harris, Theo Heras, Susan Hughes, Sharon Jennings, Etta Kaner, Tanya Kyi, Amanda Lewis, Carol MacKay, Cynthia Mackey, Sheryl McFarlane, Gina McMurchy-Barber, Priti Maheshwari, Jean Mills, Darcie Naslund, Monica Nawrocki, Deborah Patz, Jeff Pinkney, Karen Rankin, Gillian Richardson, Jessica Rose, Judy-Ann Sadler, Richard Scrimger, Lana Shupe, Erin Silver, Arthur Slade, Karen Spafford-Fitz, Kerry Sparrow, Michael Stewart, Kathy Stinson, Kevin Sylvester, Nadia Devi Umadat, Rebecca Upjohn, Larry Verstraete, Tamla Young, Danielle Younge-Ullman.
