Another group of readers selected the shortlist which proceeded to the jury, and from the shortlist the jurors selected finalists and winners. In November 2021, all the writers who entered the Competition receive evaluation comments for their entries. Written evaluations for each entry by the Competition readers are a unique benefit of entering the Competition, and entries on the shortlist also receive evaluation comments from the juries. A big thank you to the CANSCAIP Members who volunteered as readers and juries: Lana Button, Kathy Clark, Lena Coakley, Lisa Dalrymple, Kathryn Ellis, Sarah Ellis, Heather Gale, Loretta Garbutt, Linda Granfield, Theo Heras, Susan Hughes, Marthe Jocelyn, Alison Lohans, Carol L. The Writers' Union of Canada initiated the Competition in 1996, and CANSCAIP took it over in 2014. CANSCAIP, founded in 1977, is a national membership-based not-for-profit organization offering professional development opportunities for both published and unpublished children's authors and illustrators. www.canscaip.org |
