MEETING Wed Oct 10 at 7:00 with ILLUSTRATOR/AUTHOR Carey Sookocheff
LOCATION: Toronto Public Library Northern District Branch, 40 Orchard View Blvd. (1 block N of Eglinton, W off Yonge), Room 200 (2nd floor).
Carey Sookocheff was born in Ottawa but grew up in Western Canada, living in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. After studying illustration at OCAD in Toronto, she worked for a number of years as an editorial illustrator, making images for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Real Simple and lots of other newspapers and magazines. After having children of her own, she decided to pursue her love of books. Her books include The Buddy and Earl series, What Happens Next, Wet, and Solutions For Cold Feet. She continues to write and draw and has plans for many more books. Carey lives in Toronto with her husband, their two kids and their dog Rosie.

DINNER WITH THE SPEAKER AT 5:00: Everyone is welcome to come to dinner with the speaker before the meeting. Join us at at 5:00 at the CANSCAIP table at the back of The Pickle Barrel (Yonge-Eglinton Centre, 2nd floor). For simple payment, the restaurant provides individual bills. RSVP to Cathy Rondina.
TRANSIT & PARKING: From Eglinton station on the Yonge subway line, walk 1 block N on Yonge to Orchard View. The closest parking is Yonge-Eglinton Centre's (expensive) underground lot with an entrance on Orchard View. There are Green P parking lots on Erskine, Castlefield and Sherwood.
