CANSCAIP is delighted to offer our first webinar, Navigating and Negotiating Publisher Contracts presented by Warren Sheffer, to be held on Tuesday, January 17 at 2:00 (EST). 

This webinar will also be recorded, so if you can't attend the webinar, you can view the online video at any time. (You'll receive a link for the video a few days after the webinar.)

Registration is $25 for the webinar or the video. 

Navigating and Negotiating Publisher Contracts will include information and advice for both published and unpublished authors and illustrators. Intellectual property and business lawyer Warren Sheffer advises authors and performers as well as organizations that represent them. He began his legal career at Fasken Martineau LLP and has been in private practice with Marian Hebb for over a decade. Warren serves as counsel at the not-for-profit clinic Artists' Legal Advice Services, and is a former executive member of the Ontario Bar Association's entertainment, media and communications and information technology sections. 

Technical requirements for the webinar 

1. You'll need Google Chrome or Firefox as your web browser (no other browser works with the webinar software). The email you receive confirming your webinar registration will include a link to download Chrome or Firefox. 

2. Your computer must have speakers or headphones so you can hear the webinar. 

3. It is best to use a wired internet connection rather than wi-fi. The quality of the webinar is partially dependent on your internet connection.
